SONGS FOR PERCUSSION

Written by Tomas Nilsson on Mar 5 2009

SONGS FOR PERCUSSION is a collaboration between SISU and the Swedish viola player and composer Örjan Högberg. The result is very fascinating music that is both emotional and energetic, warm and wild.

SISU has since 1994 comissoned 3 compositions from the Swedish viola player, composer and Fleshquartet-member Öjan Högberg.

The Fleshquartet is maybe well known in its own right, but Högberg is among many other things also responsible for the music used in the popular drama series Berlinerpoplene on National Television in Norway.

This concert portray Högberg both as soloist with SISU and as composer.

The premier performance for this collaboration concert was during the Iliosfestival 2007 in Harstad, Norway.

The concert also had a new piece especially written for SISU and Högberg, Freedomclash Dance. Other compositions in the concert are: Beautiful one , Dual life , Out of Delusion
